No-one can be certain if these are substantial holders, but there certainly are buyers for RNY. Apart from the most recent increase in holdings by Renaissance Asset Management on 15/05 there are buyers in substitutes that are very close to home.. eg. Tom Gayner from Markel Corp recently bought a chunk of SL Green Realty (RNY was ultimately spun out of SL Green), see http://www.gurufocus.com/news.php?id=56955
I cant find any good reason not to allocate a small portion of my portfolio to these for the medium to long term.
