I would take your comment to the next step and say before I buy because the share price is dropping and looks like “value” what does the market know that I don’t.
That “value buy” could easily turn into a “value trap” once all the information that the collective market knows comes out.
Investing is not just about a return on my capital, it’s also a return of my capital. Buying a share because it’s dropping and looks “cheap” can often lead to a risk of return of my capital, especially when the overall market is not crashing
