no it’s not graphite. I’d guess it’s some sort of metamorphosed mafic or ultramafic, could be an amphibolite. It’s difficult to tell without having the rock in your hand. From memory the geology up there is ~1.5-2 billion years old, so the rocks have had plenty of time to be heated and mineralized. There is a geology map in the quarterly, but it was slightly confusing how they had the colors and symbology overlain. I’ll map it over the next few days and post an explanation if I have time.
