re: global recession Wow, I thought it would be years till I said this but "I'm glad I hung on my rental properties after the real estate boom" I have 2 and all they do is give me rent which by now nearly covers all the cost. I have been lamenting my own lack of daring do by not selling them and putting the money into commodities.

But what they do give me is a big fat equity loan with which I have bought my shares. At least no one is calling any margins on me and I can afford to ride out my recent drop in value.
