Because FMG are throwing some punches at the shorters ( negotiating with bankers, potential asset buyers , operational JV partners)and also taking the bull by the horns in terms of costs, calling TH etc.Then communicating info to market.
What have ARI done as yet? They have let the fear from the AFR article resonate without any comment. Communicated nothing, other than answer the speeding ticket. There has been nothing said and apparently nothing done.
Now I don't for one minute think ARI's debt is as worrisome as FMG's. But the key issue is that the SP reflects that the market does think this.
So IMHO the ARI response is insufficient . ARI can't just hope the shorters go away. Shorters are orchestrated and have a plan. ARI must step up.
