    "globally and increasingly the value of gold is growing"

    What? I thought price going up was an increase in value.

    Loki,

    I wish I had of kept the article from safehaven I read three months ago, which kept me out of stocks like slr, in which evidence was presented that the true cost of production was just about universally about $1600. The quarterlies that followed backed this one; for whatever reason no gold stocks that I follow showed great cash generation at $1700+ an ounce. I wrote at the time, on hotcopper that I want to see profits profits and profits and, like uranium, doesn't matter how much you've got in the ground if you cant dig it up and sell it for a profit your company isn't worth much.

    Seems, with the drop in the POG, mining stocks had better rationalise quick smart.

    I am waiting for the Paddington Bear sign: when project closures are announced; the bottom is near. Worked a treat for iron ore last year. Soon we should start to get companies giving "care and maintenance" announcements etc. The I'll be sniffing around some goldies, as you call them.

    Exfiles;
    (at the foot of loki's wall of golden worry)
