Atomics’ Managing Director David Holden said the decision by IGML to relinquish its
exploration commitments strengthened Atomics’ position as a major player in the
Tanzanian mining and energy sector.
“Atomic sees substantial upside in Tanzanian uranium exploration. IGML recently
discovered a high grade mineralised uranium deposit measuring 1,600 metres in length
and 400 metres in width, grading up to 2.4kg/t U3O8 in the Bahi/Manyoni uranium
province, and we believe there may be more deposits of similar or larger size in the
area. Tanzania is a poor nation of 40 million people with an average age of just 17. The
future of Tanzania depends on developing its mineral resources and developing vital
transport and power infrastructure that will attract foreign investment, create jobs and
enhance the living conditions of all Tanzanian’s.”
