Toastro, there r currently agreements in place to co share regional mobile towers already, tls says it covers 97% of regional towers. Now u suggest tls is running their regional network with ' monopoly like characteristics' but optus strongly disagrees with u and vodafone, and an optus spokesperson used a word i will not repeat to describe the vodafone accusations because i have since deleted reference..
It appears to me telstra and optus work together because they have both made solid investments in regional connectivity. So i believe there is no issue with installing or access to their various towers .
The issue freeloader vodafone is complaining about is they seem to b having trouble gaining access to the regional tls and optus mobile towers.
Let me guess y vodafone maybe b having trouble accessing tls/optus regional infrastructure, could it b that its because freeloader vodafone has not invested in the bush and has nothing to offer tls/optus? answer yes.
As for those suggesting tls and optus will get a rental return from vodafone on their regional towers, load of rubbish,u go invest in an asset then have yr asset access and pricing controlled by the accc.
ps just interesting how our govts both sides waste money,it would b interesting to know the cost of the 2 satellites nbn has sent into the atmosphere providing an unreliable and expensive regional/remote service, maybe they should have used that money to invest in a massive blackspot funding project in regional/remote australia providing a reliable and CHEAP mobile service.Of course only tls and optus would tender.
Vodafone needs a stick not a carrot, and mini me freeloader tpg better not b relying on declaration in the mobile network business plan.imo
