Wow....One of the most detailed posts I've ever read from a non holder with a Sell sentiment...
IMO,your "shorts" analysis is irrelevant.....there are only 1 million open....0.28% of shares on issue....All opened between Jan 19 -27 when the sp ranged between 50.5-63....(None were opened Jan 21 when the daily low touched 49)
It's quite possible they've been covered already at this week's lows....(Last open positions data avail is Feb 12th at time of writing)
The chart's telling the story currently and IMO,BFC has bottomed out over the last few days
