Re 12, gossip from friends working at Rio includes:
- Unnerving retrenchments in progress in Iron Ore geosciences team
- Some opportunities to transfer to Winu copper
- Iron ore development focus moving to the megaproject at Simandou in Guinea
But my hasty on-line research just now suggests:
- First production at Winu pushed forward from 2024 now to 2027
- Most recent Environmental Clearance map I have located shows access and disturbance for Winu mine area, infrastructure and airstrip, but nothing east of there leading to Calibre.
- Looks like focus will be on Winu copper, not Calibre gold.
Take all this with a pinch of salt though as was only a cursory effort in the middle of a busy day.
