Geeee, big questions! LICs can trade at discounts, which offer extra value than an ETF, if its a good manager! ETFs would be unlikely to go broke, as they mostly hold underlying assets also. Vanguard is huge company, very old, pretty safe bet. I own VHY and five LICs, I only buy LICs when trading at discount to NTA, like CTN now!
