The effect is probably putting a halt on any rise, given market depth is often used in the run up to drill results, as a way of gauging sentiment.

I agree with you that is probably the one seller, who has now gummed up the works.

Could be a pip trader who loaded up at rock bottom, and is following their standard play-book of trying to make profit off of volume. Or they are now feeling ansty about the size of their holding.
