Excuse my cluelessness... I've only once in my life invested in an IPO (Medibank), and that was being sold off by the government. From what I've read, when the government is privatizing something, it's generally a good investment.

On the other hand, I have a philosophy (at least so far) NEVER to invest in an IPO being floated by a private equity firm.

    My question is as follows:
I visited the ASX website of upcoming floats and listings at https://www.asx.com.au/prices/upcoming.htm . How do I tell which of these are being issued by private equity firms? Is there any easy way to tell? How does one do this research?

I'm still a newbie here (in terms of the number of posts I've made, so please be kind . (I gather that a little more kindness on this site in general wouldn't go astray in any case.
