Rheumatic fever is an "old disease" that no longer occurs in great numbers in the developed world due to better hygiene and antibiotics, however this cohort of patients will mean an accelerated view into what CC can do for
a) Mitral valve repairs and
b) Paediatric patients.

So everyone will eventually benefit from this most unfortunate situation. The patients will get better surgical protheses with the prospect at this stage from all available evidence that revisions will not be necessary, and the coy will generate data at a faster rate for valve repairs and the paediatric population.
