    Surely the test for the adequacy of the need for "community consultation" is based on some objective measure of the process involved - not the success of such consultation?
    ie Draper and Govt seem to be saying, that because MEL needed Govt assistance to keep the ferels at bay (and needed 700 policemen), and go about their MEL business, that MEL failed in their community consultation?

    So if 1 protester is anti MEL drilling, is that a failure of MEL's community consultation?

    The measure surely is not the fact that MEL needed the police, but the actual process and quantum of their work in actually consulting with the community. IE - they actually DID or they DIDN'T.

    the fact that 2,000 ferals from Rent-a-Crowd wanted to protest, is not the measure or standard by which to judge this legal issue.
