I believe those numbers are reasonable.
look at Australians at 60s- 80s, its common to see they have 2-5 children;
while for the people between 25-40 years old, its really rare to see someone have 4 children or more, 1-3 is most case.
small samples doesn’t means whole country, however it will bring us some idea.
I just asked my daughter, year 7 student, about 10 of her close friends, here is the result:
4 kids: 1
3 kids: 1
2 kids: 6
1 kid: 2
2 families out of those are Chinese; 1 from Thai, 1 japan background, while rest are Australian local people.
