In my time with SSN there has only been 1 duster which was Ripsaw, at the time Terry did'nt dick anyone around. He announced a duster and we all moved on.
Hi matyd yes that's right, also worth noting that Ripsaw cost SSN next to nothing, as payment to the driller was a percentage of the well. I think he might have suspected a duster but wanted to make sure - which he did, without costing SSN. Very cleverly done.
TB is a smart operator, always 2 steps ahead and I'm confident Defender will be a very good producer, and more importantly so will the field.
The horizontal lateral was drilled within the Niobrara “B” zone for the entire horizontal distance drilled, recording resistivity measurements of 100+ ohms for the majority of the well. Open-hole logging and conventional core analysis from the vertical pilot hole indicate that the Niobrara “A” & “B” zones are both very brittle carbonate sections that appear to be oil saturated.
A lot of time and effort has gone into this first Niobrara appraisal well, personally I would rather that he takes whatever time he needs to make sure Defender has every chance of success.
