Grant Thomas the St Kilda Football Club coach answering questions from Gary Lyon about AFL football and the guru Solagran Chairman, Dr Vagif Soultanov.



Do you have influences, confidants, mentors?

Yes I do, at different levels. I speak to Yabby (Allan Jeans) regularly, on a philosophical level. Different people about different aspects of the game. You and I have spoken a couple of times about football, which I enjoy and value. Spiritually we have people aligned to the club I can draw on.

Recently, Vagif Soultanov, a Russian gentleman I have had a bit to do with, I have found to be an extremely stimulating and motivating individual.



And is he the man behind the miraculous weight loss: 22kg in four weeks?

Yes and a couple more still to go.



You feel better for it?

Yes, amazingly so. I had dinner at his place last night, my first proper meal since I started with him. It was a piece of steamed fish. Now I have never eaten one bit of fish in my life.

It is always two, three or four. Halfway through it he was looking at me and said, 'How do you feel?', and I said actually I felt full. He started laughing and said, 'I knew it'. I feel fantastic, dangerous almost.



Has it sharpened you?

No question. He had me lying on something like a bed of nails last night. More a bed of pins. He said try it for 10 minutes and I lay on it and fell asleep for 25 minutes. It was unbelievable. I have ordered one for myself today.



What, the bed of pins?

Yes, I have ordered one from Russia. It's like concentrated acupuncture. I had the best sleep last night that I can remember. I would go to war with this bloke.



Did you have an open mind to this holistic type of treatment before meeting Vagif?

I needed to see and touch things to understand them. But having been with Vagif for four or five weeks and become aware of the results he has achieved with terminally ill people and seen the results first-hand. For me to lose 22kg and have my body detoxified and my vital organs in the condition they are now in is a minor miracle.

He is unbelievably gifted. People with extreme eczema, so bad they can only sleep for a couple of hours before waking up, he has cleared that up completely. He has had phenomenal results with patients with cancer. He is a wonderful, wonderful man.
