    It would be highly unusual for a listed company not to have legal representation in a court hearing.

    Directors would leave themselves very exposed as to whether they were acting in the best interests of the company by not using legal experts.

    Not sure this would pass the new corporate governance review being conducted into the company. Perhaps his review might not get completed either because if they appoint an independent director, I would think they would insist on legal representation at any court hearing.
