UPDATE ON KONKERA DRILLING AT BATIE WEST GOLD PROJECT

Ampella Mining Ltd (ASX:AMX) is pleased to announce that the first phase of a new 20,000 metre drill program, which commenced on 7th September 2009 at its Batie West gold project in Burkina Faso, West Africa is progressing well and drilling should be completed by the second week in November 2009. Heavy rains early in the drill program hampered access to some drill sites but conditions have improved and no further delays are envisaged as the wet season abates.

A major objective for this current drill program is to provide JORC compliant resource estimates for both the Konkera Main and Konkera North prospects. In addition, the drill program looks to extend the known strike extents of gold mineralisation at these prospects as all systems remain open both along strike and at depth.

A total of 31 new RC drill holes, for approximately 3,549 metres, have been completed for resource definition at Konkera Main and gold assay results are pending. Step-out drill holes at either end of the Konkera Main Prospect have continued to intersect significant sericite and carbonate-rich deformation zones hosting potential gold-rich sulfide mineralisation.

An additional 17 RC drill holes have been designed for Konkera Main, pending gold assay results, to assist JORC compliant resource estimations.

Adjacent to Konkera Main, 32 RC drill holes were outlined to test a gold-rich auger geochemistry target called Konkera East. To date 11 RC drill holes have been completed for approximately 1,150 metres and 3 new parallel deformation zones containing potential gold bearing sericite-carbonate-pyrite mineralisation similar to Konkera Main have been identified in drilling. Gold assay results are pending.

A total of 31 new RC holes, for approximately 3,018 metres, of a planned 41 RC holes have been completed in the resource definition drilling at Konkera North. An additional 17 RC holes have now been added to the program here.

At Kouglaga, less than 2 kilometres to the north of Konkera North, previous work has been followed up with infill auger geochemistry and aircore drilling to better define the existing 1 kilometre by 700 metre gold anomaly. A total of 218 aircore holes for 2,142 metres and 153 auger holes for 505 metres have been completed and samples sent for analysis. Results are pending.

The Company will release all of the results for Konkera Main, Konkera North and Konkera East once all results are available for each of the prospects.
