As you say this low compared with previous estimates.
This rises to 6m/1500 = 4000 ounces
Still low
They still make a good profit at these levels.
The real question is has the new CEO set the bar at numbers he is certain he can beat.
This is what I would do.
Reset expectation's low and beat them. Maybe he also has some bonuses attached to achieving these numbers.
Not sure how the market will re-act. I would have thought this was already factored in but who knows.
