One of my wife's family members here in Berlin is from Russia and is Israeli. I can sum up what he thinks of Russia in the video below. One sixth of Israelis speaks Russian however people of Russian descent believe Putin views them disfavourably. See below.
Putin seeks to refresh Israeli relations
I think the most interesting thing for Israel will be accessing the lucrative Asian market for LNG where WPL has many ready to go buyers. I also don't see Russia having a chance in Israel whilst they supply all of their mid-east neighbours with weapons and intell.
This deal will blow Woodside's share price out of the water if they get it...one to watch...
