I reckon I've come up with the perfect solution to the Farmers problem. Their concern apparently is the drain on the supply of cheap labour.
Instead of a "Pacific Solution" we implement the "Kyrgyz Solution". Ship a bunch of detainees from Christmas Island over.
Then KGL can sign offtake agreements with the farmers for their goats, yaks, potatoes and whatever at 100% over market value and use the produce to feed the mining employees.
Win/Win!!!
