For South African coal, FOB prices at Richards Bay port are hovering at USD 90 a tonne. Combined with freight rates of USD 16 to USD 17, their landed price into China stands at about USD 107 a tonne.

Does this $90 us relate to spot price? Does futures pricing tend to move toward spot pricing? Or is spot pricing of coal in SA quite sporadic?
