i discussed this very point with a Broker friend in Melbourne re Retail Investors have lost confidence in the Market because of the relentless manipulation ( as you say because they can when there is no news) he advised ASIC and the ASX dont care about Retail Investors all the ASX is concerned about is making more money for it self and it does apparently from the continual churn with Algorithmic Trading,Dark Pools and so on.
This Brokers business has fallen by 75%
