DHS Drilling Company was a private company started by Delta Petroleum in approximately April 2005.
Delta gave the company two only drilling rigs.
Delta retained 49.5 % of the company, and then got another drilling company called Chesapeake to inject a large amount of funds, in return for a 45% interest in the company.
DHS then borrowed around US $72 mil, on top of that again, and they purchased another 14 NEW rigs.

DHS has now been bought back by Delta Petroleum Pty Ltd, to the tune of 90%.

Delta have very large tennaments in the US, and have identified over 160 targets for drilling in the next 12 months.. They intend to use DHS drilling, for exclusive drilling of their own tennaments, after current commitments are fullfilled.
