Looking at the grade is not the be all and end all (look at Iron Ore for example, where impurities are equally, if not mre important than the overall grade) and while the overall grade is not at the absolute top end of the scale, the low levels of silica make this ore very attractive to Alimina refineries.
When you add to this the simple mining methods as you mentioned, the phase 1 DSO (which is just that - a phase to get some initial cashflow) is a very sound business plan.
Offtake exclusivity is over as of tomorrow so be interesting to see what comes of that.
I'm backing management in on this one... I think they have the goods.
