As an ex-Corporate PR flak from a previous lifetime, I can say usually presentations hold out the prospect of a tidbit of new information to be revealed otherwise they're just an anti-climactic rehash of existing news. But it's also a chance to showcase the competency of the presenter and the company to cement the idea that the concern is a suitably sober and professional outfit.
