Some perma-bulls in the US are saying that inflation has now started coming down. They're ideologues and so their claims can be taken with a pinch of salt but they can be a good bellwether of the direction of things, always being the earliest and loudest canary in the coalmine. From my own take, I would agree that inflation has peaked in the US. Oil coming off $12(!) in the last 2 days certainly won't hurt. That's going to be bullish for indexes but is it enough to stave off the much-predicted September slump? Stay tuned, sports fans.
