I wouldn't veiw it so much "patronizing" as perhaps hypocritical. But then again, there's no denying the fact that biotech is an industry that has been and perhaps still is male-dominated. Acknowledgement of facts isn't patronisation - reality is realityWe . Besides, maybe that empty chair on the panel stage is where Bec was sitting until she got up to take the photo!!!

We know Bec to be a tad cheeky and so maybe she is going out on a limb (pardon the pun) with her choice of photos. There is no doubt in my mind that PTX is a very much a tight-knit team. Bec is no "female cardboard cutout" that's in the PTX and, I dare say, respects that fact. But maybeBec is simply being a little sassy with the subliminal messaging here! I reckon she has her sights on the empty seats of other panels and happy for Dan to man the PTX business development side of things (given that is his job description) and be one of the faces on the screen in the future!

Bec's intention is to stand out from the crowd in her specific field of expertise at the scientific conferences, that's if her more recent tweet is anything to go by.
