    Thanks, you've got me thinking now...
    The 'value of CSE' calculated is after capital gains tax has been paid by the company, so if the full value was distributed in SYR shares then it would be a fully franked dividend.
    Is the tax office ruling that we are waiting on to determine how much can be a franked dividend and how much a capital return?
    The capital return element is relevant for the individuals capital gains calculations for the CSE shares that may cease to exist after the distribution.
    The benefits of a fully franked dividend and a 'capital return' value will differ between investors depending on their buy in price, as well as individual circumstances (marginal tax rate, cap gains situation ++), but will be material for anyone.

    A holding in a SMSF, taxed at 15%, would get great value from a large fully franked dividend, plus if they bought today at say 27cents may get a capital loss based on a lower capital return figure...

    Am I on the right track?
