"Banks and investment firms bought a total of 67,166,559 shares" is an untrue statement. A Nominee and/or Trustee Company holds shares on behalf of other entities. Even though many of these Trustee Companies might have the same name [partly] as their parent Bank, the shares behind "the wall" belong to others, not to that Bank.
