Recent placements have been going to long term holders and have not been sold off on market.
HSBC disappearing off top 20 means they have sold off earlier placements or purchases they have made. They most likely have been the big seller. Maybe want to put their money elsewhere due to reevaluating risk management in their portfolios due to sub prime crunch?? could be anything. They no longer have the clout that they did though as their holding has deminished. I wold expect less sell pressure in the next couple of weeks as other top20s seem to be around a net steady, or slightly on the buy side.
