RIO Tinto has sold its 50 per cent stake in Hydrogen Energy International to BP for an undisclosed amount.
Hydrogen Energy International owns an interest in the Hydrogen Power Abu Dhabi project.
Rio said it is selling out of that stake because it plans to focus on projects that are better aligned with its other businesses.
Rio will focus the majority of its investment in carbon capture and storage technology in the Hydrogen Energy California project.
