There is no reason not to give an update on website numbers now - I can guarantee you the CEO would have been watching numbers through December and gotten a final number of New Year's Day.
I actually think this is less important, as they have reached their 500k goal. The key things now in my view are (in order):
Getting a critical mass of listings either as many as, or more than REA.
Getting the word out on depth of listings and their other products so that rent.com.au becomes the default choice for renters
They may need extra cash to stay free until they get to critical mass but I think this is the appropriate long term strategy to dominate, otherwise they will stay as a minor player.
