I had not thought about it in those terms before but i think this two sided market has unique characteristics.
That being the legal responsibilities that come with the principal-agent relationship between the owner of a property and the real estate agent.
This in the good old days gave the real estate agent and owner a serious leg up.
That relationship in the new world we are heading into in my opinion will hinder real estate agents and assist the providers of a service outside the laws of principle and agent.
I know I will get dumped on.
But in the same way that UBER bypassed the legislative structures and provided a service for the taxi hirer (renters) to bypass the official gatekeepers the licenced Taxi Booking Service (Licenced Real Estate Agent) to get directly to the owner of the Taxi Vehicle ( owner of property for lease) will upend the established order.
