These hourly caps are a pain in the ars3. The government is all about the rebate and no cap.
However there is a cap on the hourly rate, so if G8 can somehow get the hourly rate to the cap rate I think this would see some benefit. Don't see how this is possible without dropping day and half day price.
Unless they open an hour earlier charge the same amount and have skeleton crew on in the first hour expecting no one will show up. This is the BS thing about the government hourly cap, the childcare can say it opened for 13 hours only open for 10 hours and the hourly cap would be reduced and families are better off rebate wise.
I don't know any of the rate caps that are a true reflection of childcare centres or before/after school and vacation care. In my opinion it is allowing more cheap cowboy centres in the game with less quality care. Either this or maybe it is excluding centres from entering the market as the cap on hourly rate is too low.
