Base metal prices posted solid gains on the London Metal Exchange for a second day on Wednesday. Nickel rose by 5.7pct to a 12-month highs with aluminium and zinc both gaining around 4pct.
London Brent crude rose by US$1.23 to US$75.51 a barrel.
