Uranium dust! How far would it travel?

Just curious. Since uranium is heavier than lead, how far would uranium dust travel from an open pit mine before falling back to earth?

Seems to me that even if you intentionally threw uranium dust into the air in a wind storm, it wouldn't get very far before falling back to the ground. I have been searching for studies about this, with no luck so far.

But: Logic tells me that any uranium dust that gets into the air would not get very far from the mine site. Since every effort is made to keep the dust from forming (e.g. wetting the ore before digging, etc.), the chance of any of it getting more than a few feet from its origin, would be minimal.

If anyone can find actual studies done on this, please post a link.
