I believe that you are wrong and this is indicated by today's price drop. The Record Date is for any head shares "registered". Since the options are non-renounceable, you cannot buy the rights on the market and so unless you have a way of getting new shares registered without going through a broker, then I think you have missed out, if you were planning on buying for entitlements today.
Opts are certainly good value. With the head shares at 26c, they have a value of 20.8c.
