As stated in their recent activities report, GCR may persue Uranium opportunities in the comming future. Where? Well I have just looked at GCRs tenements against the GeoScience Australia databse for known Uranium deposits and it became clear that Uranium may potentially occur within their Canbelego-Pipeline and Broken Hill exploration areas.
South of the Canbelego tenement is a U deposit north of Namadgee. Base metal mineralisation appears strong at the south of this exploration tenement and it is not unreasonable to suggest that U may also occur there or nearby. The newly acquired unexplored tenements in the Cobar area may also have opporunties for U if they are also closeby to the Canbelego area.
At Broken Hill, U apears to be located west of the town both within NSW and SA. The Tip exploration tenement is the closest to this known U area. The Trip was drilled in 2005 to chase a large gravity anomoly, with the results of this drilling not explaining anything about the gravity anomoly (i.e. no sulphide mineralisation or any obvious explaination - as stated in drilling report to ASX). DID they look for U in the drilling samples? Is U the potential reason for the gravity anomoly????
Anyway, other than that I cannot come up with any other potential U opportunities for GCR. The company may however have undeclared interests that are currently being developed which could surprise in due course.
