We now have to see what happens next with the White Paper..and the EAMRA what the outcome of that will be.......

I think it is worth while exercise too read some of the Commentary/responses to these news articles just posted even going back on some of the older ones like the Cattle Farm.
There are many I have just listed a couple "in the order they appear" that means no preference on positive or negative news but if you have the time to review them all it is a worthwhile exercise, to then see where this may go...
They made the election all about banning Uranium but at the same time mixed up with all the other issues and problems. You will see by much of the commentary that this is reflected in many many views. The economy and jobs and other matters have then been blindsided....

Anyway at present it is what it is and we have too see what happens next....
As it is not over by a long-shot....

Can Atassut and Siumut spend their own political time, and not least their OWN financial resources, on an uranium election campaign leading up to the next election? So can they freely go to the next election with uranium as their main point?

Instead of demanding a referendum in the middle of an election period that the citizens have to pay for, because that is what will happen if Atassut and Siumut send the bill out to the citizens.

And the people have spoken for this term. It was a majority that voted no to uranium, which the election campaigns largely came to be about. No to the way Siumut secretly tried to start a uranium mining operation.

Without a tenacious group of hard-working people down south, the rest of the population might not have figured out how close Siumut was to making a uranium mining deal. And with the position Greenland Mining had at that time, it had not benefited the country, as Siumut blindly believed, but the countries to which Greenland Mining had promised agreements.

Can imagine it is a tough start for IA with persistent opposition from all of the other parties. But an image of a capable government is beginning to form, and it is just a breath of fresh air that Greenland has lacked for several years.

Referendums are used to measure voters' attitudes to specific issues. They are useful in showing whether politicians agree with voters on major single issues.

In the general elections, you take a stand on the entire political proposal from the parties, and there you will find the party with which you most agree.

It may well be that they have voted for Siumut due to fisheries, education and health, but disagree with them about uranium. Here, a referendum can reveal what a majority thinks about the specific issue regardless of the party prograLennie BoesenArnaq Carla Lynge so that's your guess. No one knows which parts of a party's election manifesto the voters support, and they can only put an X.

Of course, the voice of the people must count, and therefore it must be up to the people!

The outcome of the election to the Greenlandic parliament, as a starting point does not have to have anything to do with whether there should be zero tolerance or not, there have been many facets in the last elections up here, probably most of all the outcome of the last election has been there have been many of our politicians who have stepped into the spinach, and now our regime is once again stepping into the spinach.

I immediately think that such a comprehensive economic issue as whether we want a more self-sustaining economy, including financial upliftment for the areas that crave more money to be able to lift the many heavy tasks that are lagging, needs financial boost, and that For example, our society can benefit from raw material extraction, so for me a choice of whether or not to mine uranium is very welcome.

It would be appropriate for our parliament to say to itself that just as extensive an intervention in society must and must be heard by the people, it is called respect for the citizen of society, which has been a shortage of goods from our "young" parliament over the years, lack of Unfortunately, respect for the people seems to continue in our "new" government, a government that has publicly announced to society and the world community that Greenland will contribute to a greener transition for the benefit of the citizens of the world.
