Uranium price rose US$3.00/lb to US$72.00/lb for week ending 28 Jan 11
Demand emerged this week in the term uranium market. A non-US utility is seeking over 700klbs U3O8 for delivery in 2012. One utility continues to evaluate offers for up to 1Mlbs U3O8 for delivery in 2012 through 2016, and another 2.5Mlbs U3O8 for delivery between 2017 and 2021. One non-US utility, seeking offers for long-term deliveries beginning in 2015 and beyond, is now evaluating offers.
Similar to the spot uranium market, the term uranium market is under upward pressure from expected increases in demand during the first half of 2011.
