All the more reason why EXT is still an attractive investment despite the confusing corporate play.
If the recent article posted by BB about Rio and EXT sharing infrastructure has any truth to it. High grade ore and a combination of lower capex and opex will provide a foundation for a profitable mine even with depressed U spot/LT price. If the prediction of a longer up trend of U prices is the current belief because of the number of nuclear power stations that are under construction and coming on line, EXT is perfectly placed in a jv with RIO based on timing as a producer. It will take a lot less time to get the mine on line and as we have learned from the GFC, it is all about timing the production to coincide with commodities prices. No, I haven't calculated any figures of when on line production can proceed if the outcome of a jv is indeed proved correct. That I leave to other more educated poster to calculate. Just my humble opinion.
