re: australia 'won't sell uranium to india' The Indians through their government owned State minerals and metals corporation now own and control the largest Uranium deposits in Niger, Mauritania (which Saddam wanted for himself), an even larger deposit in Bihar India and yes in Brazil where they signed an agreement with that other outside the boundaries government 5 years ago.
Downer is like Howard. They are so narrow minded having been bought over by the Chinese they grand stand in Asia. The Chinese have them by their short an curlies. China wants friends here because we are closer and have as many minerals as they can swallow at a low price. Our government subsidised the freight and other costs of mning coal, Uranium and Alluminium.
We will be paying for it a long time to come. Our children will serve in Chinese households, be nannes to their children teach and drive for them and cleand their houses. What am I saying? it is already happening.
