I remember ending up not bothering with the PEN thread about 4-5 years ago, as it was almost entirely bickering and oneupmanship. Didn't even know it was still around until seeing it mentioned here. The strangest thing to me about PEN and other stocks like it, is the relentless willingness of s/h to continue holding something as it falls further and further, over a period of years. Aside from the destruction of personal wealth, it's the enormous opportunity cost of holding that truly boggles my mind. Anything related to U has been a LT sell for a very long time now. Investing in spot U or U stocks seems to me to be taking the notion of contrariant investing to an unhealthy extreme. ST, fair enough - there's a trade in almost everything, from time to time.
