Report is a  bit old (Dec 2017), however thought some on here would like the read.
(Was news to me as I thought they were still only at batteries the size of a couple of Olympic pools).

I think the Vanadium battery is more suited for base power (more so than what SA has put in place.)

SA Battery is only 100 Mw ( will last 10 -12 years). This one being built in China is 200MW /800MWh.

Vanadium batteries have an expected lifetime of approximately 15,000 cycles, with zero degradation during the first 20 years.

Will be interesting to see these things scale up over time & hence demand for Vanadium.

Hurry up with the permits already
