There may be another U bubble - the only thing against it is the incredibly high cost of nuclear power.

There is likely to be a massive shift to solar and wind in the coming years as power storage options improve rapidly that will even out the bumps. There will always be a need for reserve capacity that is not dependent on tides, water flow, sunlight, and wind though a good amount of this can be taken up by geothermal energy which is ideally suited to storage for overnight supplement of stored solar energy as the hot water can be stored in large insulated reservoirs and used to produce power overnight.

Due to the political nastiness of nuclear and the political niceness of renewable nuclear will be last resort.

Solar production is set to become 3-5 times cheaper within the next decade or two which will then make it two times cheaper than coal and five times cheaper than nuclear - and all of the worlds large energy consuming regions other than the few hundred million (5% of world population) western Europe have vast areas of barren land that rarely sees cloud and rain that is ideal for solar generation. In addition to this, much can be generated within cities on rooftops with excess fed into the grid to help peak load demands and save the users of these panels a fortune in power costs.

I'm slowly quitting my U positions as stocks run up a bit.
