I always remember the Marks engineering handbook comparison:
1 lb of uranium was the equivalent of combusting something like 87000kg of fossil fuel in powering the us aircraft carriers.
Not bad for a giant steam kettle.
Holy grail will be when (if) they crack nuclear fusion.
