That's my feeling to - the feds will overturn the states. The state pollies will be happy with this because it keeps the local anti-Uranium voters off their backs and shifts the focus to the federal politicians. The feds just have to be confident that it wouldn't lose them the next election. Perhaps a few letters of support for uranium mining wouldn't go astray. I imagine there must be quite a few voters out there who quietly support U mining because it is the best weapon we have against global warming right now. If the pollies were confident of support, they'd change the law in a hurry - the amount of wealth involved is huge and there's nothing keeps the incumbents in like a booming economy. It seems to me that they won't pass this oportunity up. They can boost the economy significantly and help the environment at the same time. The argument that we can't sell U because someone might make a bomb with it is just silly. There are enough other sources for those people, and selling it ourselves might give us more opportunity to monitor how the stuff is used (we'll have no chance of doing that if it's bought elsewhere). Also, why is it ok to have 3 mines but not more?
